First Steps!

As many of you know, I am no longer working for LaSalle Bank. Due to a reduction in force last week that took a large portion of our team, I am now a stay at home mom.

I wasn't too excited about staying at home, but I knew that having the month of July off sounded pretty nice. So, we'll see how long I stay off, but day 1 has been good!

I told Travis last week that this could be a great blessing in disguise. Since I would be at home with Liv, I would likely get to see her first steps. Well, this little girl didn't waste any time!

On Friday evening while Travis was mowing the lawn, Olivia took 5 steps right to me! I was so excited, I made Travis come inside so he could see. She then took 5 steps right to him! It was a great moment! We were so excited! We were clapping and laughing and hugging our brilliant little girl! She was pretty impressed with herself as well, each time she'd take a few steps, she would break out in laughter!

So, we've been practicing, but she knows that she can move rather quickly on all fours! We're enjoying our time together and are looking forward to Liv's first birthday! I can't believe that this little girl will be 1 later this month! It just doesn't seem possible!

11 months old!

I can't believe that Olivia will be 1 next month! It doesn't seem possible! She is growing so much every day! Here is her monthly photo! As you can see we've had to give up on keeping the sign next to her...she just will not leave it alone! Big Surprise!
In these pictures, Travis is holding the sign, and also trying to distract her from the sign behind her head. She is so funny! She has been napping and sleeping well lately. She has even been sleeping in until 7am...which is great! She wakes up so happy and ready to go! I love this little girl!!!

Rough Day

Last week at daycare, Liv got a black eye. She was climbing (big surprise) into a toy boat and then tried to get back out, and fell....face first on the floor. She has been climbing into and onto everything. On Saturday morning, she climbed into one of her toy bins, and was standing in it. UGH!!! She is so quick to get into these spots too! She's also learning how to climb onto and off of the tractor toy.

Silly girl!

Having fun at Great-Gramie's house!

On Tuesday, Liv and I went to visit Great-Grammie C. Liv had a good time playing with the ducks and then the mirror! She also managed to find a favorite stool of mine that I always used when I was a kid. She was in such a great mood and was too funny!

Liv really liked playing with the little girl in the mirror. She laughed and giggled so much. We had fun watching her.

Julia at work

Okay, so this is "Princess Olivia's World", but occasionally another princess visits our palace. Princess Julia, complete in her Disney Princess pajamas came to visit on Monday. She always has a fun time playing with Liv's toys and books. This time Julia found Olivia's briefcase, which includes a cell phone, a watch, a calculator and some keys (Thanks Uncle Ed & Joyce!). Julia immediately put on the watch and grabbed the briefcase, and announced that she was going to work! I asked her where she worked, and she said "Ford". She put on her glasses, and I showed her to her new office (my office).

She then asked if she could check "the email". So, I locked the computer, and let her go to town. She was having a lot of fun. Then I could hear that she was "on the phone". This concerned me that she could have used one of my speed dials and called a co-worker of mine. But she hadn't....she was just calling her friend Clay. I then showed her how to use the headset, and she thought it was pretty fun. I hope she enjoyed her day working at "Ford".

Happy Father's Day!

We had a nice relaxing Father's Day. Liv and I made pancakes for Travis and even Liv enjoyed them! Olivia took a good nap in the morning, and Travis and I were able to jump in the pool for a couple of hours....alone! :) It was nice and relaxing. When Liv got up we went out for ice cream (and she loved it). We just hung out at home.

I said through my whole pregnancy that I wanted our child to get Travis' eyes, and I sure did luck out! This little lady has the prettiest blue eyes! Liv has been really getting adventurous lately! Yesterday she climbed into one of her small toy bins and played in there for about 20 minutes! She sat in there with her teddy bear for quite a while. She even was able to get out of it! I was pretty impressed! We really think that she'll be walking in no time. She has been standing alone a lot lately! She has even looked like she wanted to walk, but then drops down to crawl. So, I think that she's at least contemplating it.

She is such a happy little girl! We are so lucky to have her in our lives!

Daddy's Day luncheon

Today at Liv's daycare, they had a Father's Day luncheon. It was also Spirit Week, because it is the first week of summer vacation for the kids. Today's dress up day was "sports day". Liv wore her Tiger's outfit that her Grammie got her. She looked so cute and got lots of comments from everyone at daycare!

Liv asks "Who's your Tiger?"
